Have you always wanted to sew your own clothes? This series will help you create the wardrobe of your dreams. For the first class, join guest teacher Shannon Flaherty and learn how to sew up the 100 Acts of Sewing Shirt No. 1. This shirt is great for a beginner garment sewer! Shirt No. 1 is a simple top with short sleeves. This shirt is easy to wear and makes a great layering piece. The neck is finished with bias tape facing. A copy of the pattern is included in the price of this class.

Shannon Flaherty learned to sew as a kid and picked it back up when beginning graduate school seven years ago. Now a newly-minted Doctor, she has a handmade wardrobe to go along with her degree. She's passionate about teaching, bringing new folks to garment sewing, and sewing for all bodies and genders. She is the founder of the SewQueer project, a community for queer and trans sewists to make connections and find resources. Basic sewing knowledge and a sewing machine in working condition are required for this class. Supply lists will be sent out two weeks prior to class. No refunds after supply lists are sent out.

M: 38 inches (97 cm);  L: 41 inches (104 cm);

XL: 44 inches (112 cm);  2XL: 47 inches (119 cm); 

3XL: 50 inches (127 cm);  4XL: 53 inches (135 cm);

5XL: 56 inches (142 cm)


Recommended fabric:

Light weight cotton lawn or voile, linen, rayon or natural fiber blend woven fabric (no jersey or knits)

Yardage requirements:

XS-L: 1 1/2 yards (1.4 m); XL-4X: 1 3/4 yards (1.6 m); 5X: 2 yards (1.8 m)
